The asset advice process

Agree the approach

A first conversation about your needs, priorities and risk profile helps us agree on the right strategy and way of working.

Build the portfolio

We turn the agreed strategy into a focused portfolio, using systematic research to select and size each holding.

Implement the portfolio

We implement the agreed portfolio through your chosen bank or custodian, while your assets remain held there.

Monitor and review

We review the portfolio and its investment cases over time, recommending changes when the evidence supports them.

Portfolio construction

How focused portfolios are built.

Each portfolio holds a small number of companies, chosen and weighted in four steps. With few holdings, every position carries real weight and needs a clear investment case. The process begins with a systematic screen and continues for as long as a company stays in the portfolio.

Identify

Investment intelligence

Neox iQ systematically scores around 6,000 companies on value, quality, growth and catalyst, showing the investment team which ones have strong investment potential.

Select

Conviction

The investment team recommends the companies with the strongest investment case and keeps the portfolio deliberately concentrated.

Construct

Portfolio discipline

Each recommended weight reflects the strength of the investment case and the holding’s contribution to portfolio risk.

Review

Ongoing assessment

Every holding is reassessed as new information emerges. When the case changes or a stronger opportunity appears, we recommend adjusting its weight or exiting the position altogether.

Roles and responsibilities

How Neox fits into your investment setup.

Neox works alongside you and your chosen bank or custodian, each with a clearly defined role.

You

You agree on the strategy and the objectives behind it. When Neox recommends a change, you decide whether to act on it, and nothing happens without your approval.

Neox

Neox recommends what to hold and when to change it. Each recommendation comes with the reasoning behind it, so you can judge it on its merits.

Your bank or custodian

Your chosen bank or custodian holds the assets in your account and executes the trades you approve. You keep the banking relationship you already have.

Fees

How our fees work.

Our fees may include fixed and performance-based components. We agree on the structure with each client in advance, tailored to their strategy, objectives and the scope of our engagement.

Fixed fees

Fixed fees cover the ongoing research and reporting behind each portfolio. They stay the same whatever the markets do, so clients know their costs from the start.

Performance fees

Performance fees are linked to investment returns, so our interests stay aligned with our clients’. They are calculated at agreed intervals. A high-water mark means we charge them only on gains above the portfolio’s previous highest value.

Case studies

From client brief to tested strategy.

About Neox

High-dividend equity strategy

260 versions of a dividend portfolio. The client chose one.

The client wanted a portfolio built for dividend income, with firm limits on the sectors and countries it could hold. We began with why the client wanted the strategy and what they expected from it, then tested 260 versions of the portfolio, each with different rules for selecting and selling stocks. The client saw how return and risk shifted with yield threshold and portfolio size, then chose the strategy to invest in.

    FAQ

    Questions about asset advice.

    Get in touch
How does asset management from Neox work?

We start by agreeing on a strategy and mandate that fit your objectives and risk profile. Neox then builds a focused equity portfolio using its research and manages it within the mandate. Your own bank holds the assets and executes Neox’s instructions, and you receive regular reporting on every change.

Is asset management from Neox right for me?

It suits investors who want a focused equity portfolio managed with clear reasoning, without having to approve every change themselves. Because our portfolios are concentrated and long-term, they’re best suited to investors who can accept market fluctuations along the way. Our first conversation helps establish whether asset management or asset advice is the better fit.

Can I work with Neox alongside my other investments or advisors?

Yes. Neox can cover the equity part of a wider portfolio. In our first conversation, we look at what you already hold, so the portfolio we build complements your overall position. You keep your existing relationships, and Neox focuses on the part where systematic equity research adds the most value.

    Can the portfolio be customized?

Yes. You can follow one of our core equity strategies or have a portfolio built around your own brief, including the regions and sectors you want to focus on and the limits it needs to respect. Before you invest, we compare possible configurations against historical data, so you can see the trade-offs and choose the approach that fits.

What does a concentrated portfolio mean for risk?

A concentrated portfolio holds fewer companies than a typical fund, usually between 15 and 40. Each holding has more influence on results, which can lead to larger swings in value than in a broadly diversified portfolio. To manage this, every position is sized to the strength of its investment case and its contribution to overall risk, with correlation controls applied across the portfolio.

Who makes the final investment decision?

Under asset management, Neox makes the investment decisions within the mandate agreed with you. The mandate sets the objectives and limits we work within, and you can revisit it as your circumstances change. If you prefer to make each decision yourself, asset advice remains available.

How often does Neox make changes to the portfolio?

That depends on the strategy and on market conditions. Neox portfolios are built for the medium to long term, so we make changes only when the evidence supports them. Every change is made within the mandate and explained in our regular reporting.

    Where are my assets held?

Your assets stay in an account in your name with your own bank or custodian. Neox does not hold client money or securities, and you keep the banking relationship you already have. Your bank continues to send you statements as usual, so you always have an independent view of your holdings.

How does Neox monitor the portfolio?

Neox iQ tracks every holding and its investment case every day, and the investment team reviews what it flags. When the evidence behind a position weakens or a stronger opportunity appears, we make changes within the mandate and explain the reasoning in our regular reporting.

What is the minimum amount required?

Minimums depend on the strategy and how it’s structured. Get in touch, and we’ll explain what applies to your situation.

How much does asset management cost?

Fees are agreed in advance and reflect the service provided and how it is structured. We explain the applicable charges before you decide whether to proceed. Custody and trading costs charged by your own bank are separate from Neox’s fees.
